SOSC 120007, Principles of Economics
My favorite textbook is Exchange and Production: Competition, Coordination, and Control, by Armen Alchian & William Allen. Or you can buy a new and longer version of this book, entitled Universal Economics. This version has much more examples and discussions, and a better organization. I believe that since the 1960s, these books have been the best textbooks for undergraduate students, much better than those more popular ones. And it is free to read online or download a PDF.
Another good book is The Economic Way of Thinking, by Paul Heyne et al. This one is easier to get a hardcopy in China.
Another free online textbook is https://www.core-econ.org. It has many graphs and built-in videos. You can read it on you computer or download an APP on your phone.
If you want to read some stories of economists, The Worldly Philosophers: The Lives, Times, and Ideas of the Great Economic Thinkers (by Robert Heilbroner) is still the best.
